Please join The Alfa Art Gallery for our 10th anniversary celebration featuring the work of gallery owner, Vesselin Kourtev. Our special 10th anniversary exhibition will celebrate a decade of bringing the community together through culture and visual arts.

Teeming with rich warm hues and fast flashes of vibrancy, Vesselin Kourtev’s work is saturated in emotion and action. Utilizing abstract colors and provocative shapes, his oil paintings are shrouded in mystery while his watercolors fill the canvas with soft shapes with bold backgrounds. Vesselin Kourtev is one of the co-founders of Alfa Art Gallery, born and raised in Bulgaria – he has studied art for most of his life and currently serves as the artistic director of the gallery. His work is mostly oil and watercolor including a few collages. He has previously participated in numerous solo exhibitions across Europe and in New York City and New Jersey, where he currently lives.

We invite you to come enjoy Vesselin Kourtev’s artwork at our special 10th Anniversary Celebration: A Decade of Culture and Creativity and live performance by Michelle Lily and Estrada Branca.

About Estrada Branca

The Alfa Art Gallery is proud to present the exceedingly talented Estrada Branca. Formed in 2009 by a group of musical virtuosos with a shared love of Jazz, American Popular Song, Afro-Cuban and World Music, Brazilian Music and, in particular, the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Yolanda Digrius (vocals), Ken Lipman (Sax and Flute), Jaq Keenan (Guitar), Jerry Otero (Bass), Bob Ramos (drums) and Michael Lawton (keyboard) have entertained audiences in the local New Brunswick Music Scene, Rutgers University, and various Highland Park street fairs. We believe that visual art is a universal form of expression which can bridge cultural gaps and provide a forum where diverse perspectives can be shared and appreciated. Established in 2008, our organization has grown into New Brunswick’s Cultural Hub by exhibiting over five hundred artists and hosting multidisciplinary community events in honor of the visual arts, music, poetry and dancing.
